What's Cooking in the Havlir House?
In a society where processed goods and fast food restaurants are overwhelmingly abundant, I seek to go back to basics to create a variety of healthy and delicious food each day. Here I will blog my attempts to create foods from all over the world with an emphasis on Chinese cooking since it is what I know best.
I have loved to cook ever since I was a little kid. Like most children, I loved being in the kitchen with my parents as they cooked. I remember this funny moment of when my mom asked me to wash some carrots, (I was no older than 3 years old) and since I didn't know any better, I actually used soap and water to do the job. Now, a few decades later, I have sharpened my skills and love creating our own delicious meals. It's rewarding, really. To be able to prepare and enjoy a different creation almost each and everyday is pretty neat.
